"I don't know why, but I either bring out the best or the worst in women."

Says Donald Trump in his 1997 book "Trump: The Art of the Comeback." As far as Trump's presidential campaign, women's attitudes towards the republican are mixed. However, among the general public, women overwhemingly dislike him. And rightly so. Here are some of the reasons why I dislike Trump.

The man is a bully. What he said about Megyn Kelly was unbelievably atrocious. Kelly questioned Trump on his misogynistic comments, and in a result Trump has repeatedly, childishly and abusively taunted Kelly, making public comments to the media about her professionalism and performance. He even retweeted sexist and critical tweets about her. “you could see there was blood coming out of her eyes, blood coming out of her wherever,” a comment he later denied was a reference to menstruation.

Did Kelly deserve this? Of course not. All Kelly was doing was asking Trump a tough, but relevant, question "You've called women you don't like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals," she pointed out "does that sound to you like the temprament of a man we should elect as president?"

Trump took the abuse further, by retweeting images from a shoot Kelly did with GQ, quoting the images with "And this is the bimbo that's asking presidential questions?" Childish and obnoxious if you ask me.

There are also many other reasons to hate trump, aside from his sexist bullying. Probably one of the most frightening reasons to not like Trump is that you CAN'T disagree with him. He considers himself to be correct about everything that crosses his mind, not allowing any kind of constructive debate. Progress in politics can only happen when some kind of compromise is maintained. He is also a sexist, did I mention that?

Trump's declaration that he would close the United States to Muslim immigrants confirmed his fascistic tendencies and  his open bigotry. It also made it overwhemingly clear that he is a bad person. This is the undercurrent that has run through stories since the very beginning of Trump's presidential campaign. He mocked Vietnam prisoner of war John McCain for being captured during the war, he mocked a disabled reporter, he smeared immigrants as rapists.

The connecting issue here is that, given practically any opportunity, Donald Trump will be an obnoxious xenophobe. And bigoted. That gleeful, unapolagetic incivility is at the root of what makes him a bad person, and also at the root his approach to politics and policy. Most of his proposals, to the limited extent that they can be understood as remotely serious, are insults in policy form.

That persona is what drives his fans, and also his campaign. And its centrality to his political success and policy agenda is what makes it so important to understand. The easy mistake to make is to think that Donald Trump is a bad person because he is a dull, fascist bully. The better way to understand Trump is the other way around: He is a dull, fascist bully because he is a bad person.

Please, America, do the right thing. Don't let this man be president.
